Press Release
DataLogic to Offer Subscription Based
Wi-Fi Products and Services
IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- DataLogic International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI
- news;
Berlin Stock Exchange: 779612)
today announced that it will offer subscription based Wireless
Fidelity (Wi-Fi) products and services aiming at the commercial,
enterprise, academic institutions, multi-tenant properties, hot-spot
operators, and residential markets.
DataLogic plans to begin offering this
new suite of products and services later this month, with a full
rollout planned for launch in January 2004. The services include
design, consultation, installation and integration of the standard
802.11 wireless networks for short and long-range wireless coverage.
The Company will also provide software solutions enabling network
operators to offer fee based Wi-Fi services.
The Company will market its new products
and services both domestically and internationally. The explosion
of Wi-Fi usage among individual consumers has been brisk due to
inexpensive hardware and simple installation. The number of wireless
network operators is also growing at a rapid pace but most operate
independently requiring the users to have multiple accounts to
access the network depending on where they are. One major key
to DataLogic’s software solution is that it allows various networks
to link together via a partner business exchange, enabling users
to roam between networks with a single account.
Keith Nguyen, DataLogic’s President, commented,
“By offering Wi-Fi as a stand-alone service or a bundled telephony
solution, we believe our users will find tremendous convenience
and cost savings in having a wireless network and low-cost calling
service.”
Nguyen added, “Based on the Company’s current
developments and projections, we anticipate that our Wi-Fi and
VoIP services to be a material component of our overall sales
for fiscal 2004.”
